Hiking is a nice way to explore St. George. There are gravel roads and four-wheeler trails as well as established hiking paths that lead out to the high bluffs and some of the seal rookeries. There are also game trails made by reindeer and some tundra or rocky areas where the off-trail walking is good. In other areas the walking is difficult because of deep grass and boulder terrain. There are some nice coastal hiking areas, some along sandy or cobble beaches and others following the bluffs. For more information about hiking routes contact the local Tourism Coordinator.
